Mr. Reggie Wright, a former professional basketball player, has been featured on CNN for his work with educating and empowering students. He is a high-energy motivational speaker who is passionate about encouraging the youth to pursue their dreams and goals. A native of Trenton, NJ, Mr. Wright grew up knowing what it means to grind and work hard to overcome adversity. He attended New Jersey City University, where he played basketball all four years and earned a B.S. in Computer Science. Upon graduating, he played professional basketball in Europe. He later went on to earn a master’s degree from Cairn University. Mr. Wright is currently a doctoral student at Liberty University, where he is researching how parental involvement can help narrow the academic achievement gap for Black males. Additionally, he teaches a character development/social-emotional learning curriculum to 5th grade students. Mr. Wright is certified in evidence-based programs, such as Mental Health First Aid-Youth, Social-Emotional Learning, and Character Development Curriculum. Mr. Wright is a mentor for an organization called Raising Black Men and is on the Board of Directors for a non-profit, Urban Promise of Trenton. Mr. Wright is guided by his ethics and passion to serve students and help them achieve success. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, working out, and is currently writing his first book.
